Their advanced techniques and eco-friendly products make them a top choice for anyone looking to keep their wardrobe in pristine condition.

General Stain Removal Tips

  1. Act Quickly: The sooner you treat a stain, the easier it is to remove. Blot, don’t rub, to avoid spreading the stain.
  2. Test First: Always test your stain remover on an inconspicuous area of the fabric to ensure it doesn’t cause damage.
  3. Use Cold Water: For most stains, cold water is best as it prevents the stain from setting.

Specific Stain Removal Techniques

1. Red Wine Stains

Red wine stains can be particularly challenging, but with prompt action and the right techniques, you can effectively remove them.

Blot the Stain
  • Immediate Action:
As soon as the spill occurs, use a clean, white cloth or paper towel to blot up as much wine as possible. Avoid using colored cloths as they might transfer dye to the fabric.

  • Blot, Don’t Rub:
Gently blot the stain to absorb the liquid. Rubbing can spread the stain and push it deeper into the fabric fibers.

Apply Salt
  • Salt Application:
Generously cover the stained area with salt. The salt will absorb the wine, turning pink as it does so.
  • Let It Sit:
Allow the salt to sit on the stain for several minutes. For more stubborn stains, you might need to leave it on for up to an hour.

  • Brush Off the Salt:
Once the salt has absorbed the wine, gently brush it off using a soft brush or cloth.

Rinse with Cold Water
  • Rinse from the Back:
Hold the stained fabric under cold running water, rinsing from the back of the stain to push the wine out of the fibres.

  • Continue Rinsing:
Keep rinsing until the water runs clear. This might take a few minutes but is crucial for removing as much of the stain as possible.

  • Wash as Usual:
Follow the care label instructions and wash the garment. Use a pre-treatment stain remover if necessary. Check the stain before drying; if any trace remains, repeat the steps.

2. Grease Stains

Grease stains can be tricky, but with the right approach, you can get rid of them effectively.

Cornstarch or Baking Soda
  • Absorb the Grease:
Sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda directly onto the grease stain. These powders will absorb the grease from the fabric.

  • Let It Sit:
Allow the powder to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes. For heavier stains, you might need to leave it on longer.

  • Brush Off the Powder:
Gently brush off the powder using a soft brush or cloth.

Dish Soap
  • Apply Dish Soap:

Apply a small amount of dish soap directly to the stain. Dish soap is designed to cut through grease, making it an effective stain remover.

  • Gently Rub In:

Use your fingers or a soft brush to gently rub the soap into the stain. Be careful not to damage the fabric.

Wash in Hot Water
  • Check the Care Label:

Ensure the fabric can be washed in hot water. Use the hottest water safe for the fabric to help break down the grease.

  • Wash and Inspect:

Wash the garment as usual. Before drying, check to ensure the stain is completely gone. If any trace remains, repeat the steps.

3. Remove Sweat Stains from Clothes

Sweat stains can be unsightly, but they don’t have to ruin your clothes. Here’s how to tackle them effectively.

Step 1: Prepare a Vinegar Solution

  • Mix the Solution:

Combine a quarter-cup of white vinegar with one cup of water. Vinegar is excellent at breaking down sweat stains and neutralizing odors.

Step 2: Treat the Stain

  • Drench the Stain:

Apply the vinegar solution directly to the sweat stain. For heavily stained garments, you can fully submerge the garment in the solution.

  • Soak:

Allow the garment to soak in the solution for at least 30 minutes. This gives the vinegar time to break down the stain.

Step 3: Rinse and Wash

  • Rinse with Cool Water: After soaking, rinse the garment with cool water to remove the vinegar solution.

  • Machine Wash:

Wash the garment in the washing machine according to the care label instructions. Use a regular detergent and a cool water cycle.

4. Ink Stains

Ink stains can be particularly stubborn, but with the right techniques, you can remove them effectively.

Rubbing Alcohol
  • Dab with Alcohol:

Soak a cloth in rubbing alcohol and dab the stain. Alcohol helps to break down the ink.

  • Blot with Clean Cloth: Continue blotting with a clean cloth until the ink starts to lift. Be patient, as this might take some time.

Rinse and Wash
  • Rinse with Cold Water: Rinse the fabric under cold running water to remove the alcohol and any remaining ink.

  • Wash as Usual:

Follow the care label instructions and wash the garment. Use a pre-treatment stain remover if necessary. Check the stain before drying; if any trace remains, repeat the steps.

5. Coffee Stains

Coffee stains can be tough, but with prompt action, you can remove them effectively.

Blot with Cold Water
  • Immediate Action:

Blot the stain with a cloth soaked in cold water. This helps to dilute the coffee and prevent it from setting.

  • Blot, Don’t Rub:

Gently blot the stain to absorb the liquid. Rubbing can spread the stain and push it deeper into the fabric fibers.

Apply Vinegar Solution
  • Mix Solution:

Mix one part vinegar with two parts water. Vinegar helps to break down the coffee stain.

  • Apply to Stain:

Apply the vinegar solution to the stain using a clean cloth or sponge. Gently blot the stain with the solution.

Wash Normally

  • Check the Care Label:

Follow the care label instructions and wash the garment. Use a pre-treatment stain remover if necessary. Check the stain before drying; if any trace remains, repeat the steps.

Got it! Let’s rephrase and expand on these stain removal methods to make them unique and tailored to your brand, IDC Laundry services.

6. How to Remove Blood Stains from Clothes

Blood stains can be particularly challenging, but with prompt action and the right techniques, you can effectively remove them. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you tackle blood stains with confidence.

Step 1: Act Quickly
  • Immediate Action:
As soon as you notice the stain, soak the garment in cold water. Cold water prevents the blood’s proteins from setting into the fabric, making it easier to remove.
  • Blot Excess Blood:
If the stain is fresh, use a paper towel or a clean cloth to blot out as much blood as possible. Running the garment under cold water can also help remove excess blood.
Step 2: Apply a Cleaning Solution
  • Hydrogen Peroxide Mixture:
Mix one part hydrogen peroxide (20%) with six parts cold water. Apply this mixture to the stain. Hydrogen peroxide is effective at breaking down blood stains.
  • Baking Soda Paste: Alternatively, you can use a paste made from two parts baking soda and one part water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Step 3: Rinse and Wash
  • Rinse with Cold Water: After treating the stain, rinse the garment thoroughly with cold water.
  • Machine Wash:
Wash the garment in the washing machine using a cold water cycle. Check the stain before drying; if any trace remains, repeat the steps.

The Ultimate Guide to Dry Cleaning vs. Washing

The Ultimate Guide to Dry Cleaning vs. Washing: How to Choose the Right Method for Your Clothes

When it comes to expertly caring for your clothes, the cleaning method you choose can make a big difference in both cleanliness and garment longevity. Should you wash or dry clean your clothes? This depends largely on the type of fabric and the level of dirt or stains. For many garments, a simple wash with water and detergent is sufficient, but more delicate items may require the careful treatment of dry cleaning.

Dry cleaning

What is Dry Cleaning?

Dry cleaning is a process that uses solvents, not water, to remove dirt and stains. This method is particularly effective for delicate fabrics such as silk or wool that can be damaged by water. During the dry cleaning process, garments are treated with chemicals like perchloroethylene (commonly known as perc) in a machine that resembles a washing machine. The solvent dissolves the stains, and after the cleaning cycle, garments are dried and pressed. Although this method is more thorough for certain types of stains, it has raised environmental concerns, leading to the development of more eco-friendly alternatives.

Washing Clothes at Home: The Convenient Choice

For everyday clothes, home washing is a simple and efficient method. Whether you’re using a washing machine or hand-washing certain items, water and detergent work well to eliminate most dirt and odors. However, it’s essential to follow the care labels on garments and separate clothing by color and fabric type to avoid damage. While washing at home is convenient, not all fabrics respond well to this method, especially delicate ones like cashmere or lace.

Why Choose Dry Cleaning?

There are several advantages to dry cleaning:

  1. Protection for Delicate Fabrics: Dry cleaning is a preferred method for delicate fabrics such as silk, wool, cashmere, and lace, which may be prone to shrinking, stretching, or losing their shape when washed in water.

  1. Effective Stain Removal: Dry cleaning can be more effective at removing stubborn stains like oil, grease, or ink, which can be challenging to remove with regular washing.

  1. Preserves Garment Quality: Dry cleaning is generally gentler on garments, as it reduces the wear and tear that can occur in traditional washing machines. This can help preserve the quality and extend the lifespan of your clothes.

  1. Time-saving: Dry cleaning offers convenience, as it eliminates the need for soaking, washing, and drying cycles. You can drop off your garments at a dry cleaner and have them professionally cleaned, dried, and pressed, saving you time and effort.

  1. Professional Results: Dry cleaners are experienced in handling different types of fabrics and garments. They have specialised equipment and expertise to achieve professional-level cleaning and pressing, leaving your clothes looking crisp, fresh, and well-maintained.

Dry cleaning and traditional washing both have their place in a well-rounded garment care routine. Ultimately, choosing the right method for each piece of clothing will ensure it stays in top condition.

Boost Your Business with a Laundry Franchise

Interested in turning your passion for garment care into a successful business? Consider a laundry franchise! Not only is it recession-proof, but it’s also a high-yielding investment. With professional equipment and growing demand, owning a laundry franchise is a promising venture.

5 Reasons Why Wet Cleaning is Better Than Dry Cleaning

What-is-wet-cleaning

What is wet cleaning?

Wet cleaning is a professional garment care method that uses water and biodegradable enzymes to clean clothes. Unlike dry cleaning, which uses liquid solvents like perchloroethylene (PERC) or hydrocarbons, wet cleaning does not expose clothes or workers to toxic chemicals. Wet cleaning also uses less energy and water than dry cleaning, making it more environmentally friendly.

How does wet cleaning work?

At Indian Drycleaning Company, we follow a carefully designed wet cleaning process that ensures your clothes are treated with care and precision :

  1. Pre-treatment:
The clothes are inspected for stains, tears, buttons, zippers, etc. and pre-treated with special enzymes that break down dirt and grease.
    – Sorting: We sort your clothes by fabric type, color, weight and level of soiling. This helps us choose the right wet cleaning cycle for each item.
    – Spotting: We use a special device that combines high-pressure air and water with a vacuum pump to remove stains from your clothes. We also use eco-friendly spot removal agents that are gentle on the fabrics and the environment
  2. Washing:
The clothes are loaded into a computer-controlled washing machine that adjusts the water temperature, agitation, and spin speed according to the fabric type and care label. The machine also adds softeners and conditioners to protect the fibres and prevent shrinkage or stretching.
    – Wet cleaning: We load your clothes into a computer-controlled wet cleaning machine that adjusts the water temperature, detergent dosage, mechanical action and spin speed according to the fabric and treatment required. Most cycles are run at low temperatures to prevent shrinkage and fading.
    – Coating: The machine applies a protective coating of dirt-repelling molecules to your clothes before washing them. This prevents the stains from re-attaching to the fabrics during the cleaning process. The machine then washes your clothes with a mild detergent and water, followed by a rinse and a conditioner that softens the fabrics and restores their shape.
  3. Drying:
We transfer your clothes to a computer-controlled dryer that monitors the moisture level of each garment and adjusts the temperature accordingly. The dryer gradually lowers the temperature as the clothes dry to prevent over-drying and shrinking. The dryer also fluffs up your clothes to make them more comfortable to wear.
  4. Finishing:
The clothes are pressed, steamed, or ironed to remove wrinkles and creases. They are then folded or hung on hangers and packed in Compostable packaging bags.

Wet-Cleaning-is-Better-Than-Dry-Cleaning

Why Wet Cleaning is Better Than Dry Cleaning

Wet cleaning has many advantages over dry cleaning, such as:

  1. It is safer for your health: Wet cleaning does not use any harmful chemicals or solvents that can cause skin irritation, respiratory problems, or cancer. Wet cleaning also eliminates the risk of chemical residue or odor on your clothes.
  2. It is gentler on your clothes: Wet cleaning preserves the color, texture, and softness of your clothes better than dry cleaning. Wet cleaning also removes stains more effectively than dry cleaning, especially water-based stains like coffee, wine, or blood..
  3. It is faster and cheaper:  Wet cleaning takes less time than dry cleaning, as it does not require any drying time or solvent recovery. Wet cleaning also costs less than dry cleaning, as it does not involve any expensive solvents or equipment.
  4. It is greener for the environment:  Wet cleaning reduces the amount of water and energy used in the garment care process. Wet cleaning also avoids the emission of greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that result from dry cleaning.

Conclusions

Wet cleaning is a new technique for doing everyday laundry in the fashion & lifestyle industry. It is a garment-cleaning process that uses water and biodegradable enzymes instead of solvents in technically advanced and computer-controlled machines. It is safer, gentler, faster, cheaper, and greener than dry cleaning. If you want to try wet cleaning for yourself, look for a certified wet cleaner near you and enjoy the benefits of this innovative method.

Intimate Hygiene: Why Getting Your Underwear Cleaned Regularly Matters

Intimate Hygiene

When discussing personal hygiene, it’s essential to address every aspect, including the often-overlooked topic of intimate hygiene. Maintaining clean and well-maintained pants is an important part of this discussion. In this blog post, we will look at the importance of regular pants cleaning and how it relates to the most profitable franchise business in the dry cleaning industry, with a focus on Dry Cleaning Franchise Business Opportunities, dry cleaning and washing-related services, and Laundry Franchise Business Opportunities, with a particular emphasis on “Indian DryCleaning Company.”

Understanding the Importance of Intimate Hygiene

Personal hygiene is a critical component of general health and well-being. While many of us pay attention to frequent showering and oral care, we sometimes forget intimate hygiene. This involves making sure your underwear is clean and sanitary.

Why is Underwear Hygiene Important?

  • Infection Prevention: It’s essential to keep your pants clean and free of bacteria and germs if you want to avoid getting sick, especially if you’re a woman. Unwashed pants can harbour pathogenic germs that can cause urinary tract infections or yeast infections.
  • Aroma Control: Keeping your pants clean aids with odour control. Unwashed pants can gather sweat and bodily fluids over time, resulting in unpleasant odours.
  • Comfort: Wearing clean, well-kept pants is more comfortable, allowing you to go about your day with confidence and ease.
  • Skin Health: Keeping your pants clean helps reduce skin irritation and chafing, which keeps your skin healthy.

The Role of Dry Cleaning in Intimate Hygiene

Now that we’ve established the importance of clean underwear, let’s dive into the role that dry cleaning plays in maintaining intimate hygiene. Dry cleaning offers several benefits when it comes to taking care of your undergarments:

  •  Dry cleaning is a thorough and gentle cleaning method that removes stains, bacteria and odours from your pants. With regular washing at home, this deep cleaning can be tough to achieve. Delicate Fabric Care: Many undergarments are constructed from delicate fabrics that may not resist ordinary machine washing. Dry cleaning maintains the integrity of these materials while removing pollutants. Convenience: Professional dry cleaning, particularly when provided by franchisees such as “Indian Dry Cleaning Company,” is a time-saving alternative for busy people. Drop off your pants and we’ll return them to you fresh and clean.

Dry Cleaning Franchise Business Opportunity

For entrepreneurs and investors seeking the most profitable franchise business opportunities, entering the dry cleaning industry, specifically focusing on intimate hygiene and related services, can be a lucrative choice. Here’s why:

  • Growing Demand: There is a growing demand for convenient, high-quality dry cleaning services. People appreciate the convenience of outsourcing their dry cleaning needs as their lives become more hectic.
  • Recurring Revenue: Providing specialised services such as intimate hygiene-related dry cleaning builds a loyal customer base, assuring a consistent flow of recurring revenue.
  • Expertise and Training: Joining a franchise such as “Indian Dry Cleaning Company” entitles you to expert training and support. You’ll have access to the knowledge and resources you’ll need to succeed in the dry cleaning industry.
  • Quality Equipment: Franchises invest in cutting-edge equipment to offer the greatest possible results for your customers. This is especially critical with delicate textiles like those used in underwear.

Laundry Franchise Business Opportunity

Incorporating intimate hygiene services into a laundry franchise business is a strategic move. You cater to a specific market while giving a thorough laundry experience by providing specialised care for underwear. When personal hygiene services are added to the laundry franchise business opportunity, it becomes even more appealing.

At “Indian Dry Cleaning Company,” we understand the significance of this aspect of laundry. Our franchise opportunities offer a range of services, including:

  • Specialized Undergarment Cleaning: We take the utmost care when cleaning intimate wear, ensuring that they are hygienic and odor-free.

  • Education and Customer Awareness: We believe in educating our customers about intimate hygiene and the importance of professional cleaning for their undergarments.

Conclusion

In the field of personal hygiene, intimate hygiene should never be disregarded. Having your underwear cleaned on a regular basis is an important step in maintaining your general health. Dry cleaning is important in this procedure since it ensures that your intimate wear is not only clean but also free of hazardous bacteria and odours. By collaborating with a respected franchise, such as “Indian Dry Cleaning Company,” you may provide specialised treatment for undergarments and assist people in prioritising their intimate hygiene. Remember that clean pants is more than simply a question of convenience; it is also an issue of health and confidence.

The Art of Dry Cleaning- Preserving the Beauty of Your Indian Silk Sarees

We all love dressing up in sarees and stocking up on sarees of all types, whether we’d wear them or not. But the crucial part is the care that has to be given to every saree. When it comes to silk sarees, it is difficult to maintain them well enough to stay intact for a longer period. But there are quick tricks and tips that you can try any day to maintain the shelf life of the silk sarees.

The royal aspect of silk sarees is the most common reason why women want to wear them. Every lady aspires for beauty and grace in a saree, and traditional silk sarees have these in spades. The amount of elegance imparted by a silk drape is unmatched, whether you are getting dolled up for a festival or a wedding. Most of the time, the maintenance and care for those sarees might seem tedious and difficult. If wearing the saree wasn’t hard enough, maintaining them will be.

While dry cleaning is a safe option for silk sarees, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure the best results.

To begin with, it’s important to choose a reputable dry cleaner who has experience with silk sarees. They should use gentle detergents and solvents specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Before handing over your saree, be sure to point out any stains or areas of concern.

Further, it’s always good to have the saree pre-treated before the dry cleaning process. This involves applying a stain remover to any visible stains or spots, which will help to ensure they are fully removed during cleaning.

Third, it’s important to make sure the saree is properly folded and packaged after cleaning. This will help to prevent creases and wrinkles, which can be difficult to reverse. It’s best to store silk sarees flat, or hanging up with padded hangers to prevent damage to the delicate fabric.

Overall, with the right care and attention, silk sarees can be enjoyed for years to come. By following these tips, you can ensure that your saree stays looking beautiful and vibrant, even after multiple wears and cleanings.

Silk sarees are so immensely adaptable that any woman can wear them for a variety of functions. A silk saree looks incredibly fashionable on all women, regardless of their age. Silk draperies are also made in a wide range of hues, allowing us to choose the ones that suit us best.

Different types of silk sarees are widely worn/preferred across India.

India is also home to various types of sarees. Some of them are original silk, while others are a mix of silk and other fabrics.

Silk sarees are a popular choice for special occasions and events, yet they require proper care to maintain their beauty and longevity.

If you intend to store your silk item for an extended period, pack it in breathable bags and use a moth-repellent.

Fundamentals Of Cleaning A Silk Saree

  • Never wash a silk saree by hand or by machine.

  • The easiest thing to do if the saree becomes ruined with spots or stains is to use cold water to wipe the stain away.

  • Silk sarees should only be dry cleaned. This is where IDC comes to the rescue, the best dry cleaning service you can count on!

How long does fashion last?

For me, it lasts for as long as you maintain it well.

At a point in life, we all have cherished wearing our parents’/grandparents’ clothes from back when they were our age. These heritage moments are once in a lifetime opportunity and are memories for life. No matter how long it has been, it always stays fresh to us.

But have you ever wondered how these age-old apparels were stored?

Preserving fashion is a science combined with art and passion. Back in those days, they did not have the privilege of technology and convenience to store the special apparels or garments. Most of the times, the grannies used to stitch bags of cotton clothes to preserve their special apparels. In India, it was and still a custom to pass on the parents’ wedding wear to the kids. Such apparels were usually preserved in big cotton bags which were mostly hand stitched. These bags were customised according to the size of garment to be stored. All these garments were carefully cleaned for any spots, refurbished for damages, and then packed for a storage that would usually last for a couple of decades. These spot treatments or refurbishing usually happened at home using bleaches, detergents or “nani maa k nuskhe” as we all call it.

The apparel was then covered in layers of raw cotton to prevent friction amongst the embellishments and keep the shine intact. A lot of times it was also sprayed with a “spirit” like solution (mostly used in medical establishments) or Boric Acid powder to keep the pests away. Any tassels, hangings, removable attachments were brushed or removed carefully to be packed separately. Each piece of the garment used to be taken care of perfectly. The box or the suitcase (in most of the cases) in which the garments were stored were filled with naphthalene or camphor balls to shoo away the rodents, too.

We have come way farther than those days. We have all the modern needs sorted for us now. We have our storage in place. Niche and sturdy modular furniture today has sorted our long-awaited storage issue. But we still love to preserve our and our parents’ or grand parents’ heritage for the future generations to cherish. The bigger challenge here is to put in the effort, time and right expertise in preserving the Fashion today.

Fashion from the past few decades have transformed exceptionally. The increasing demands and rapidly changing trends have brought in innovations that have led us to an era of fashion where anything and everything is possible. Even though we enjoy the changing trends in fashion, there are still a few sets and pieces that we want to stay fresh forever. This is where we need the expert preserving solutions.

To preserve and keep a garment new as ever we need to keep in mind the following things:

- The Garment should be cleaned thoroughly:

Most of the garments today come in a combination of multiple fabrics, dies and variety of embellishments. Once we have worn it, we usually tend to have sweat, food and mud on it as common issues of garment soiling. Cleaning a garment thoroughly to get rid of all these issues is very important as these may cause Fungus or damages to the garment in the long run.

- Air drying is absolute must to lengthen the raiment’s life:

Air drying

A garment if packed with moisture will be damaged within months. Fungus, moth, pests, etc. inhibit in environment that are otherwise humid and warm. These can cause a permanent damage like non removable spots, dissolving of yarn, breakage, or tear, etc. to your favourite piece of fashion. Hence, make sure your raiment is perfectly and 100% dry before you pack it to store.

- Folding or hanging- Chose the right way to store:

A lot of fabrics cannot be stored in a folded manner. Delicate fabrics like silk, zari/ wire woven fabric, mulmul, etc. tend to tear off or dissolve at the folds very easily and quickly. They may also develop permanent fold marks at those places if are not properly cared for.
Similarly woollen or other knitted fabrics cannot be stored hung for long as they may deform in shape over the period. Hence, it is always suggested to check the way you store your garments.

- Try to opt breathable packaging:

breathable packing

Breathable packaging helps to prevent the garments from fungus, pests, etc. Opting for soft/ organic packaging also helps in maintaining the shine, texture, and freshness of the garment for a longer time.

- Periodic checking is a definite need:

Once you have taken care of your favourite piece there, don’t just forget it. Keep a periodic check on it. Get it cleaned at least once a year by experts to give it a longer life.
It’s always good to relish a memory every now and then. Reliving your best moments are always the game changer.

But, this is a passionate and time consuming task and we @IDC understand it completely. So leave you favourite garment with us and we will return it to you in a “perfectly ready-to-store” way. Let the experts take care of your memories for you!

Business Establishment ‘Cost’ v/s Equipment ‘Cost’

In the last few months, we have witnessed rapid change and development in the laundry and drycleaning industry. Looking at the scope of growth and market share in the Indian market, a lot of entrepreneurs have started investing in the “Franchise” models of the Drycleaning & Laundry brands. Most of these potential entrepreneurs or as we call them “investors” compare the cost of Business establishment to the cost of Equipment.

Now let us understand what is Cost of Equipment first.

POV: Laundry & Dry Cleaning Business.

To start a Laundry & Drycleaning business, you have to set up a store with some basic equipment to run the operations. Those basic equipment mostly consists of Washing machines, Dryers, Iron setups, some exclusive infra, a store reception, billing system, etc. The expenditure made to get all this together is the Cost of Equipment.

Now, when everything is set, the real game begins when you must plan the sales, operations, marketing, data analysis, market research, Application, web promotion, and a lot more than that. Brands come with a well-equipped team with the right expertise, years of experience, knowledge, information, tech update and what not!

This is where a huge business establishment cost is involved. Most of the brands charge a justifiable fee to help small business owners to establish their business under the Brand’s name. That’s exactly what a Franchise Fee is for. That’ what Brands charge their royalty for.

So when potential entrepreneurs argue on why they should pay the extra cost, what is your take?
